Galician Passion in a Can, Real Conservera Española Sea Urchin Roe

With the help of “Os Gómez”, two brothers who risk their life at sea on a daily basis, and our lovely Elena, who gives our cans the love they deserve, we want to show you the effort behind making each one of our products. Sea Urchin Roe.

We had the pleasure, in full Sea Urchin campaign, of meeting the fish farmers of Aguiño in person. We were also lucky enough to join Fidel and Manuel, “Os Gómez”, on their search for this “fruit of the sea”. Even though we know the whole process of extracting sea urchin roe, it was very impactful to see the difficulty, merit and passion with which these fish farmers work with every day in person. While Manuel dives to the depths of the nearby Atlantic Islands in his wetsuit and oxygen tank, his brother Fidel is on board, on high alert, as his borther’s life is in his hands.

At sea we have our brave friends “Os Gómez” who bring the best seafood the sea has to offer to land. Back at the factory, our home, we have our craftworkers, our family. Women who, like Elena, our production manager, are responsible for preparing the seafood that comes into our factory with love and care. They are the ones responsible of our Sea Urchin Roe being chosen among the Top 10 best Canned Seafood Products in the World by World’s 101 Best Canned Products From The Sea.

We feel great pride for our people and our culture. We want to give visibility to these jobs so that the work we put into our cans can continue to be appreciated.
